Installation Guide

Professional installation instructions for LUNVYR lighting fixtures. Ensure safe, compliant installation with our comprehensive technical guide.

Licensed Electrician Required: All LUNVYR fixtures must be installed by a qualified, licensed electrician for safety and warranty compliance.
Pre-Installation

Electrical Requirements

Voltage & Power

  • Standard: 120V AC, 60Hz (US)
  • Maximum load: Check fixture specifications
  • LED compatibility: 90-277V AC
  • Dimmer compatible: Verify driver specs
  • Power factor: >0.9 for LED fixtures

Circuit Protection

  • GFCI protection (wet/damp locations)
  • Appropriate breaker sizing
  • Arc-fault circuit interrupters (AFCI)
  • Surge protection recommended
  • Dedicated circuits for large fixtures

Wiring Standards

  • 14 AWG minimum for 15A circuits
  • 12 AWG minimum for 20A circuits
  • Copper conductors only
  • THHN/THWN insulation type
  • Proper junction box sizing

Environmental

  • Dry locations: Standard installation
  • Damp locations: IP44 rated fixtures
  • Wet locations: IP65+ rating required
  • Temperature: -20°C to +40°C
  • Humidity: Max 95% non-condensing
Step by Step

Installation Procedure

01

Safety & Preparation

Turn off power at the circuit breaker and verify with a non-contact voltage tester. Ensure the circuit is completely de-energized before beginning work.

Warning: Never work on live electrical circuits. Double-check power is off using appropriate test equipment.
02

Ceiling Box Installation

Install an appropriate ceiling box rated for the fixture weight. Use pancake boxes for lightweight fixtures (under 50 lbs) or fan-rated boxes for heavier installations.

Note: All LUNVYR fixtures include weight specifications in product documentation. Ensure ceiling box exceeds fixture weight rating.
03

Mounting Hardware

Assemble the mounting bracket according to fixture instructions. Secure the mounting plate to the ceiling box using appropriate screws and ensure it's level.

Tip: Use a level to ensure the mounting plate is perfectly horizontal before final tightening.
04

Electrical Connections

Connect fixture wires to house wiring using appropriate wire nuts: black to black (hot), white to white (neutral), green/bare to green/bare (ground).

Critical: All connections must be secure and properly insulated. Verify connections with gentle tugging before proceeding.
05

Fixture Assembly

Carefully attach the fixture to the mounting hardware. Ensure all decorative elements and glass components are securely fastened according to assembly instructions.

Handle with Care: Brass and metal finishes can be damaged during installation. Use clean cloth to handle finished surfaces.
06

Testing & Final Check

Restore power and test fixture operation. Check all connections, verify proper switching, and ensure the fixture is securely mounted with no movement.

Final Inspection: All installation work must comply with local electrical codes and may require inspection approval.

Critical Safety Guidelines

Power Off

Always turn off power at the breaker and verify with a tester before beginning any electrical work.

Weight Limits

Ensure ceiling box and mounting hardware exceed the total weight of the fixture by at least 50%.

Code Compliance

All work must comply with NEC, local electrical codes, and may require permit and inspection.

Environmental

Use fixtures rated for the installation environment (dry, damp, or wet locations).

Professional Help

When in doubt, consult a licensed electrician. Improper installation voids warranty and creates hazards.

Quality Materials

Use only UL-listed electrical components and follow manufacturer specifications exactly.
